Grace Tham

Meet the CEO of Verve L&D Sdn Bhd, Grace Tham, a game designer, teacher, and business owner with a passion for changing the face of education. Throughout her career, she has worked tirelessly to provide education that prepares educators and children in their care to thrive in uncertainty. With a solid work history that includes roles such as Director of Sirius Scholar Study Skills Sdn Bhd, Academic Director of Sri Emas International School (Business), and Group Director of Training of the ACE EdVenture Group of Schools, she has gained extensive experience in the education industry.
Her contributions to the ACE EdVenture group have not gone unnoticed as the group has been the recipient of numerous awards and recognition, including the SME100 Fast Moving Companies Award and the ASEAN Business Award for SME Excellence in Innovation. The group’s work has also been recognized by the Cambridge University Student Union (CUSU), and was awarded the Best Practices in Education award several times.
Grace’s business experience dates back to 1996 when she started doing administrative work for ACE EdVenture at the age of 7. Over the years, she has created unique syllabi for various subjects, such as History and Social Skills, and designed fun activities and crazy games to teach Economics in a unique way. She has also been instrumental in designing the training modules for teachers and developing accountability systems for mentoring and assisting teachers.
Various trainings and certifications in the areas of Teacher Training, Business Training, Speaker Training, Professional Development, and Personal Development have long been part of her repertoire as they provide perspective as to the skills and mindsets that are needed in the real world. Her latest training tracks include world class speaker training from Frontier Trainings and becoming a fully TTT certified and accredited trainer under the Human Resource Development Corporation.
It is evident for all to see her dedication to changing the education industry. She was part of the game and narrative design team that successfully created ChemCaper, the world's first chemistry role-playing game, which won several awards, including the International Mobile Gaming Awards (SEA) for Best Meaningful Play and the Asia Pacific ICT Alliance Award APICTA 2016 for Best E-Learning.
Her character and guts to say no to entrenched practices and to do what is necessary and right for the growth of all the people in her sphere make her life fulfilling and exciting. She is a visionary leader with a passion for changing the face of education, and her innovative ideas and dedication to the industry are inspiring.
